Graveside services for Fay Williams, 90, of Abernathy, TX, will be held at 10:00 am Friday, August 22, 2014, in the Strip Cemetery, Abernathy, with Larry Bloskas officiating. Services are under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Abernathy.

Mrs. Williams died at her home in Abernathy, TX, Tuesday, August 19, 2014.

She was born May 8, 1924 to William George and Bessie May (Ely) Pittman, in Madras, TX. She grew up in East Texas and her family moved to the Hale County area in the 1940's. She married Claudy Edward Williams in September of 1948, in Plainview, TX. He preceded her in death, December 11, 1999. During the war she worked at the Lone Star Army Ammunitions Plant Factory in New Boston. Mrs. Williams was employed as a lab tech at the Plainview Hospital in the 1940's and 1950's and was a housewife and a Church of Christ.

She is survived by a son, Claudy Edwards Williams, Jr., of Abilene, TX, 2 daughters, Barbara Williams of Abernathy and Cathy Rodriguez of Joshua, TX, 4 grandchildren, Holly Vickers, Craig Williams, Joshua Rodriguez and Benjamin Rodriguez, a great grandson, Jamie Vickers and one sister, Ima Lee Edwards of Arlington, TX.
