Dennis Charles Wise, 58, of Lorena, passed away Saturday, March 15, 2014, at Scott and White Hospital in Temple. Services will be at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, March 20, 2014, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel. Burial will follow in Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, March 19, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home.
Dennis was born in Jefferson, Iowa, to Paul and Verna Mae Wise. He graduated in 1974 from East Greene High School located in Grand Junction, Iowa. He moved to Houston, Texas in 1979, and then to Waco in 1980.
He married Sandra Wise on November 24, 1984. Dennis worked at Sherwin-Williams for many years. He enjoyed playing golf and spending quality time with countless friends and family, including his five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Wise; parents, Verna Mae and Paul Wise; brothers, Donald Wise and wife, Marcia and David Wise; mother-in-law, Santina Beveridge, and brother-in-law, Ron Schauer.
Dennis is survived by his sons: Michael Mercer and wife, Kassie, Adam Wise, and Phillip Wise and fiancée, Kristin Robinson; grandchildren: Devin Mercer, Logan Mercer, Halie Mercer, Allison Dickey, and Edward Wise; brothers, Dan Wise and wife, Cindy, and Doug Wise and wife, Amanda; sisters-in-law: Diane Wise, Patricia Curry and husband, Billy, Linda Schauer, and Nancy Beveridge; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins whom he lovingly referred to as Sportsfans!
