Jamie Alyce Clarke Dunn, 99, died on March 14, 2014 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Friends may call at Strode Funeral Home on Monday, March 17, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Her funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 18 at First United Methodist Church, Stillwater, with Reverend Kyle Anderson officiating. Interment will be at Fairlawn Cemetery, Stillwater. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
She was born March 4, 1915 in Dover Oklahoma, the daughter of James Harvey and Gay Ione Clark. She grew up in Arkansas City, Kansas, and Perkins, Oklahoma. She attended Oklahoma A&M University. She married Warren William Dunn on August 30th, 1936. They made their home in Stillwater.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Stillwater, a member of Kappa Phi, a Methodist sorority, and active for many years in the United Methodist Church and Women's fellowship. She was also a Stephens Minister of the church for several years, and a member of the Methodist Sunday School class for 50 years. She was a Red Cross Volunteer, active for many years in the St. Cecilia Music Club where she sponsored one of the first Junior Music Clubs in Stillwater. She was a long time member of the Book Shelf, a literary book club, and presented book reviews for many organizations in Stillwater and around the State. She helped coordinate the Book Review class for continuing Education. She also was a friend of the library. She was a member of the Stillwater Country Club at one time. She fulfilled some of her dreams of traveling by going to England, France and Germany. Another wish was granted when she visited New York City and went to Broadway shows with her granddaughter Alyson.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Warren and brother, Harry Clark of Perkins.
She is survived by her son, Warren James Dunn of North Carolina; daughter, Gay Lynn Bullock of Stillwater and her younger son William Clark Dunn of Stillwater. She has seven grandchildren, Jamie Horning, Melissa McMartin, Patricia Hustava and Michael Donovan, also Kenneth Dunn, Alyson Dunn and Sierra Lace Dunn. She has 12 great grandchildren.
