Paula Sue Hinkle, 55, of Independence, MO passed away Sunday, March 16, 2014. A visitation will be held from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 23 at Carson Speaks Chapel. Rosary will recited at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 24 at the chapel with a funeral service to follow. Burial will be at Mound Grove Cemetery.
Paula was born January 12, 1959 in Independence, MO to George and Margaret (Pokaluk) Smitka. She was raised in Sugar Creek and graduated from Van Horn High School. She was Catholic and would attend St. Cyril's Parish. Paula worked her entire career of 35 years for SBC, now AT&T and was a CWA 6360 Union Member. She loved sporting events & traveling, She especially loved the Kansas City Royals. She was an auto racing enthusiast particularly winged sprint cars and had a passion for the bull riders of the PBR. She was also a proud Vanner and member of HOAVC. She is remembered as beautiful and strong both in body and spirit. Paula is loved and will be missed.
She is survived by husband of ten years, Darren Hinkle of the home; daughters, Molly Jenkins of Independence, MO; and Tricia Barron and husband Alfredo of Kansas City, MO; step children, Henry Hinkle and wife Catrina of DeKalb, IL; Harlen Hinkle and Hannah Hinkle of Independence, MO; sister, Patricia Hacker of Olathe, KS; and grandchildren Alexiss Barron and Jake Hinkle.
