The cause of David's death being old age and a general breaking down in health. Mr. Ream was married ou Dec. 23, 1865, to Miss Mary A. Bair and in 1969 moved with his family to Cloud county, where Mr. Ream homesteaded near Lawrenceburg. In 1870 the deceased and family moved to Jewell county where they resided on a farm. Mr. Ream was elected several times to the office of Justice of the Peace of his township. After a residence of ten years in Jewell they returned to Cloud and purchased a farm in Sibley township, which is now owned by Jas. Clark. After a residence there of 8 years they moved to Center township where they lived until ill health compelled Mr. Ream to leave the farm. They moved to Concordia four years ago. Mr. Ream was a member of the Illinois cavalry, joining the volunteers on August 12, 1861, serving as a private and receiving an honorable discharge in 1864. The funeral services were conducted by the G. A. R. from the house Sunday at 2 o'clock, Rev. Sheafor of Sibley officiating. The deceased leaves a son, two daughters and a wife.
