Thurber Rites Are Set
COLMUBUS, Ohio. Funeral services will be held in the Broad Street chapel of the Weir funeral home here at 2 p. m. Thursday for Mrs. Mary A. Thurber, 89, mother of author James Thurber. Mrs. Thurber died In University Hospital today. She suffered a stroke November 23 after being in failing health the last four years. She had made her home in the Seneca Hotel here with another son, Robert. A third son, William, is a Columbus City employee. Mrs. Thurber was the subject of a number of literary pieces by her son. One book about her was "Lavender With A Difference." Burial will be in Columbus' Greenlawn Cemetery.
