He worked for Ford Motor Co., St Paul Assembly Plant as a Foreman of the Paint Department. After 33 years, he retired on Jan 15, 1973. In December 1973John and Stella sold their home and moved to Clearwater, FL, then to Belleair Bluffs, FL, where he thoroughly enjoyed his retirement to the fullest. He enjoyed being outside all through the year and no snow to shovel!
He was a devote family man, with four daughters in four different states and there were yearly visits to MN, IL, AR, and GA.
He is survived by wife Stella, daughters; Connie (Bill) Archer, Gretchen (Mark) Deichelbor, Susan Schaefer, and Jill (Tom) Cunningham. Seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Sister, Rosemary Hebner, Victoria TX, sister-in-law, Erma Schaefer; brother-in-law, Carl Holcombe, Bloomington.
Preceded in death by his parents; L.P. and Helena Schaefer and a brother, Roman L Schaefer.
