BANGOR — Frederick Lindkvist, 73, of Bangor, PA, died on March 7. Fred was the faithful servant to and caregiver of the land and voyagers of Columcille, the non-profit megalith park he co-founded in 1978 with William H. Cohea, Jr.
Fred served as Columcille treasurer for 36 years and was a co-creator in the building of the St. Columba Chapel, where he will be interred. Fred was born to parents Enghardt and Olga Lindkvist on Oct. 11, 1940, in Brooklyn, NY.
He is survived by his brother Robert, sister-in-law Sharon, cousin Edith Thiseth of Norway, and partner William H. Cohea.
A memorial service and celebration of Fred will be held at Columcille on June 8. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Columcille in his name for the installation of memorial benches around Fred's favorite Linden tree.
