"Death of Mrs. McDaniel

Mrs. Margarett McDaniel, wife of Mr. Augustus McDaniel, died at thei r home a few miles from town last Wednesday after a long illness, age d about 72 years. Her remains were interred by the side of her daughte r, Mrs. Futrell, near Eagletown on Thursday, the funeral services bein g conducted by Rev. Mr. Smith, pastor of the new church near her home . The writter had known Mrs. McDaniel since he was a small child and e steemed her highly for her many excellent traits of character, but dur ing the past 20 years has seen but little of her, which is a source o f regret to him. Too many of us neglect social duties, and wait till o ur friends are dead to scatter flowers in their pathway."
