Grace Lucille Lambert Tingler, 92, a resident of Elkins, departed this life Thursday morning, March 13, 2014, in Valentines Assisted Living at Beverly. She had been in declining health.
She was born Tuesday, July 19, 1921, at Wymer, a daughter of the late James Alfred and Lena Bell Snyder Lambert.
On July 5, 1941, at Oakland, Md., she was married to Earl Tingler, who preceded her in death Aug. 30, 1989.
Surviving are three brothers, Raymond Lambert of Louisville, Ohio, Tunney Lambert and wife, Louella, of East Canton, Ohio, and Hansel Lambert and wife, Hilda, of Ohio; one sister, Permilla Reed of California; a sister-in-law, Sandra Sue Lambert of Wymer; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceding her in death were her stepfather, Luther Elam Lambert; four brothers, Earnest, Blake, Dempsey and Kermit Lambert; and one sister, Carrie Lambert.
She attended the schools of Wymer, had worked for Altman Hospital at Canton, Ohio, for nine years, and Central States Can Co. at Massillon, Ohio, for six years as a quality control inspector. She was a member of Lambert Mennonite Church at Wymer, Delphia Rebekah Lodge 62 and enjoyed being the family historian.
The family will receive friends at Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home Sunday, March 16, at 2 p.m. The Rev. Martin Hoover will officiate, and interment will follow in Elkins Memorial Gardens on the Country Club Road, Elkins.
