Mr Horlbeck, of 1827 State Street, Cayce, was originally from Fairfield County, but had lived in Cayce for the past 50 years, where he served as a policeman until his retirement. He later served as watchman for the A A Chemical Company.
He was a member of the Episcopal church. Survivors include a sister, Mrs Margaret Horlbeck Tuggle of Shreveport, La, and several nieces and nephews.
