The funeral for J. Arthur Kihle, 86, 817 30th St. N., Fargo, will be at 2 Monday in Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo, with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Fargo. Visitation will be in the funeral home from 4 to 6 Sunday. He died Thursday, July 4, 1991.
Mr. Kihle was born March 22, 1905, in Brooklyn, N.Y. In 1905, he moved with his family to Staten Island, N.Y., and in 1917 moved to Larson, North Dakota. He graduated from high school in Columbus, North Dakota, and late attended St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota, for two years.
He married Linnie W. Ljunggren Oct. 20, 1932, in Columbus. They lived in Larson until 1937 when they moved to Noonan, North Dakota. They moved in 1940 to Portal, North Dakota, and in 1942 to Minot, North Dakota. In 1942 he began working for Gambles in Minot, and in 1947 started contracting for custom home construction. In 1958, he began working in the engineering division at Minot Air Force Base. He spent two years working in maintenance and 13 years estimating, retiring in 1973. In 1974 they moved to Fargo.
His wife died in 1989.
He is survived by three sons, Donald A., Tulsa, Okla., Dr. Kenneth, Bottineau, N.D., Galen, Minneapolis; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
