Ramona Jane (Goldsberry) Gunstra, 87, of Lafayette, passed away at 9:23 AM on Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at St. Anthony's Health Care. Born October 5, 1926 in Rockford, IL, she was the daughter of the late Hurley and Hazel (Lane) Goldsberry. She was a graduate of Lafayette Jefferson High School.
Ramona married Henry "Hank" Gunstra, Jr. on February 8, 1945 in Lafayette and he preceded her in death on April 27, 2002. She was a dental assistant at Dr. Felkner's dental office and then worked in the office at Lafayette Oral Surgery Center, retiring in 1989. She was a member of Lafayette Christian Reformed Church, Indiana State Dental Assistants Association, where she was past president and also held other offices, Kappa Kappa Kappa Philanthropic Sorority and volunteered at the former Home Hospital. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, playing Bingo, knitting, crocheting and sewing.
Surviving are her two sons, Bruce Gunstra (wife, Diane) and Mark Gunstra (wife, Dottie) both of Lafayette, her sister, Mayme Watson of Fieldbrook, CA, her brother, Alonzo Goldsberry (wife, Hazel) of Arizona, three grandchildren, Erinn Mosher (husband, Scott), Matt Gunstra (wife, Amber) and Lindsey Tyson (husband, Dan), and three great-grandchildren, Austin Mosher, Caroline Mosher and Korbyn Tyson.
Funeral service 2 PM Friday at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens Chapel with Pastor Mark Bonnes officiating. Burial to follow. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Lafayette Christian Reformed Church. Hippensteel Funeral Home is entrusted with care.
