Evangeline Josephine Ericksen, the daughter of Lewis and Josephine (Benson) Jones, was born in Central City, Nebraska on January 16, 1909 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on November 9, 1999, at the age of 90 years, 9 months and 23 days.

She grew up on farm near Hordville. The family later moved into town. She graduated from Hordville High School.

She was united in marriage to John Ericksen on September 2, 1930 in Nashua, Iowa. They moved to Hampton. John passed away on October 30, 1973. Vannie continued to live at their home in Hampton.

Evangeline was a member of United Lutheran Church Women, Hampton American Legion Auxiliary and a past member of TNT Club.

Her parents, husband, six brothers and three sisters preceded her in death.

She is survived by her son Duane of Hampton; three daughters, Nell Ericksen of Hampton, Marian Bedinger of Hampton and Dorothy Vergas of Scottsdale, Arizona; 10 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
