Minnie Pearlee Ducker Rhodes
February 2, 1893 - August 12, 1978

Minnie Ducker Rhodes, 85, of Ball Gap Road, Arden, died Saturday at the Mountain Sanitarium in Fletcher, following an extended illness. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Solon Byron and Lorick Ashley Ducker. She was a former member of the Avery's Creek Community Club.

She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Will Albert Rhodes, four daughters, Frances Bullard and Jean Carter of Charlotte, Louise Gregory of Augusta, GA, and Margaret Brown of Shelby; seven sons, James R. Rhodes of Falls Church, VA, William A. Rhodes, Jr. and Woodfin C. Rhodes, of Arden, Raymond K. Rhodes and Max S. Rhodes of Raleigh, Vernon O. Rhodes of Candler and Bruce B. Rhodes of the home; Two sisters, Jeannette Cary of Hendersonville and Maggie Corn of Arden; a brother, Frank Ducker of Arden; 23 grandchildren and 13 great- grandchildren.

Services will be held at 2pm Tuesday at Long Shoals Baptist Church of which Mrs. Rhodes was a member. The Rev. Austel Youmans and Rev. Bill Nelson will officiate. Burial will be in Roberts Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7- 9pm Monday at Groce Funeral Home, where the body will remain until placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service.
