Rosalie Joan Stevens, 74, of San Mateo, Florida, died Saturday, September 1, 2012, after a long illness, at Haven Hospice in Palatka, Florida.
Rosalie was a Buncombe County native and a resident in Florida for most of her life. She was born to the late Richard and Fannie Roberts Stevens. Also preceding her in death were brothers, Frank C., Robert, Henry, Merritt, George; and sisters, Virginia, Alice, Wylma, and Ella Mae.
A green memorial service will be held at a later date by her surviving sisters, Nell Stevens Bell of Asheville and Sue Stevens Capps and husband Gene of Winter Park, Florida; by surviving brothers, Tom Stevens and wife Virginia of Asheville, Joe Stevens and wife Sarah Ann of Leicester; and by surviving nieces and nephews.
Rosalie was a Christian of Baptist denomination. She loved flowers and was an artistic individual, creative with crafts, sketching and other arts.
Officiating at the memorial service will be Rev. Ricky Wolfe and Rev. Bobby Smith.
