Daisy was born on February 10, 1875 at 129 N Winnebago street, the home of her maternal grandparents where she lived for the majority of her lifetime. She was the oldest daughter of Edwin Benton and Catherine "Kate" Honorah (Kellogg) Childs.

Daisy married on September 27, 1900 to Bennett Plesant Stewart, a barber and the son of Rolland and Mary (Clifford) Stewart. Though their marriage would not be forever, they divorced in 1915, together they shared in the joy of having two children; Catharine Bernita Stewart born April 28, 1902 and Prentiss Baird Stewart born January 30, 1907.

Daisy, like her mother, was a seamstress. She was employed by Stuckey's clothing store for a number of years, retiring in 1954 at the age of 79. Besides her children, Daisy was survived by her sister, Miss Lillie B Childs, seven grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.

"Miss Daisy Childs is apprentice in the millinery trade ..." Republic, Mar 29, 1899.

"Mrs. Daisy Stewart, son Prentiss and daughter Bernita, of 129 North Winnebago street, leave Saturday morning for Spokane, Wash., to spend the summer with Mrs. Stewart's father." Jun 15, 1917.
