She was the widow of Marshall G. Carlton, A retired farmer who died in 1942.
Mrs. Carlton was born Feb. 16, 1887, the daughter of James and Sophie Hutchinson, pioneer residents of Fix Ridge. She attended school and married Carlton there in November 1905.
The couple farmed there until his death. She later moved to Juliaetta, where she maintained her home until her death.
She was a member of the Juliaetta Baptist Church.
Surviving are three sons, John Carlton of Davenport, Wash.; James H. Carlton of Juliaetta and Charles Carlton of Seattle; a daughter, Gladys Foskett of Sequim, Wash.; two stepsons, William Carlton of Juliaetta and Vance B. Carlton of Seattle; a brother, George Hutchinson of Spokane; four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.
