O. Thomas Welch took over the combined hardware and undertaking business started by his father, William M. Welch. His father started the business in Longview in 1914, and operated it until he died in 1930. In 1938, he moved the Welch Funeral Home into this beautiful location at 413 Green Street near downtown Longview. His father, William M., and mother, Lula B., are buried in Grace Hill Cemetery in Longview. (Look up that cemetery and search for their name for more pictures and a detailed history of Welch Funeral Home.)
