Ida was the 11th of the 12 children of George and Caroline Pickering McGowan of Lawrence Township, Van Buren County, Michigan. She was married to Abraham Lincoln Edwards 6 September 1888 in Hartford, Van Buren County, Michigan. Lincoln Edwards (1863 - 1928) is also buried in Farmer Cemetery.
