Funeral services for Jack Ray Massey, 76, of Sand Springs will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Calvary Heights Assembly of God Church. Burial will be in Woodland Memorial Park under the direction of Mobley-Dodson Funeral Service. He died on November 20, 2005. He was born on September 25, 1929 in Hughes Springs, Texas and was a retired metal fabricator for Crane Carrier Company. Survivors include his wife, Rita Jean (Doss) Massey; his daughters, Alice Denise Christy of Glencoe, and Deborah O'Neill, Dixie Regina Kern, and Jacqueline Drusella Webster, all of Sand Springs; his son, Darren Robert Massey of Sand Springs; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Jack Ray Massey's father was Lawrence Edgar Massey not Lawrence Arthur Massey. Lawrence Edgar Massey was born 8 Apr 1900 in Mill City, Oregon. He married Ruby Conley on 5 Jul 1925 in Jackson, Arkansas. He appears as L E Massey in 1930 & 1940 census records with his children. In the 1940 census he is shown as widowed & living with his parents & 7 children. In 1942 he registered for the draft which is where I found his date and place of birth. He was remarried to Mary R Selmer in Sand Springs, Oklahoma on 15 Apr 1962. I have been unable to find a death or burial record for Lawrence Edgar Massey.
