CURWENSVILLE - George W. "Bill" Muir Jr., 67, of 428 Anderson St., Curwensville, was pronounced dead on arrival at Clearfield Hospital last evening.
A son of George W. Muir Sr., and Olive (Albert) Muir, he was born in Wallaceton Sept. 26, 1909.
He was a retired office manager of Dotts Motors, Inc., Clearfield; was a member of the Lake Street United Methodist Church, Woodland; and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having attained the rank of Chief Warrant Officer.
He was a member of Noble Lodge No. 480, Curwensville, the Tall Cedars of Lebanon and the Williamsport Consistory.
Survivors include his wife, the former Louise Kelly, of Curwensville; a brother, James C. Muir of St. Cloud, Fla.; and three sisters; Mrs. Gunnard (Vivian) Carlson of Philipsburg; Mrs. John (Madalyn) Rupp of Washington, D.C. and Mrs. John H. (Thelma) Shaw of Milton. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by two infant brothers.
The funeral service will be held Monday, April 25 at 1:30 p.m. at the Russell H. Lininger Funeral Home, with Rev. M. Dayle Dickey officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Curwensville.
Friends will be received at the funeral home from 2 p.m. Sunday until the time of the service on Monday.
