Jesse Robinson was the youngest child of George W., and Mary (Noantay) Robinson. Jesse was born 2 Jan 1881, Grand Haven, Ottawa Co., MI.

Jesse married 20 Nov 1901, Grand Rapids, Kent Co., MI, Lucy Waite, the daughter of Ed and Louise (Blackburn) Waite. Jesse and Lucy were the parents of two children, viz: Olive J., born about 1901; and James, born about 1910. Olive married 17 Jan 1919, Grand Rapids, Kent Co., MI, Fred Hayward, son of Henry and Laura (Tibbits) Hayward. Olive and Fred had one child, Charles Hayward, who died young. Jesse and Lucy's other child, James, was born after Jesse's death in 1910. In 1940, James was "Head of Household", living in Grand Rapids, and working for the City Health Department. James mother Lucy (Waite)(Robinson) Smeltzer was living with him at the time.

In 1910, Jesse Robinson was working as a roofer. Jesse died 30 Jan 1910, at his home. The cause of death was "accidental asphyxiation - illuminating gas".

After Jesse's death, Lucy (Waite) Robinson married second, James Edmund Smeltzer, the son of Joseph and Sarah Ann (Jones) Smeltzer. James Smeltzer died in 1945, and Lucy (Waite)(Robinson) Smeltzer subsequently died in 1953.

Native American ancestry, Jesse Robinson was a mixed blood Native American Indian on his mother's side of the family tree. In 1870, Jesse's mother, Mrs. George Robinson drew annuity payments with Chief Pe-nay-se's Band of Grand River Ottawa Indians. Mrs. George Robinson's 1870 roll number was 20-57. In 1909, Jesse Robinson drew annuity payments for himself and his daughter Olive. His Durant Roll number was GRV 5754.

Jesse Robinson is laid to rest in the Robinson Township Cemetery.
