HOLTON- Mrs. Beulah Fisher, 97, died September 16, 2012, at Aldersgate Village in Topeka, where she had lived for 11 years. Mrs. Fisher was formerly of Holton. Mrs. Fisher was a retired school teacher, having taught 33 years in the Kansas school systems of Barnes, Marysville and Holton. Most important to her; she was a homemaker, a mother and a friend. She was born August 5, 1915 at Fairview, Kansas, the daughter of Walter and Clara (Hochstetler) Germann. She graduated from Fairview High School in 1933 and received a Bachelor of Science degree from Kansas State University in 1938. Mrs. Fisher was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Holton, serving as elder and treasurer. She was also a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society, Jackson County Historical Society, Holton Hospice, Bookman Club, Tourist Club and participated in various community and church activities on a volunteer basis. Beulah married Fred R. Fisher on June 30, 1946 in Fairview, Kansas. Fred preceded her in death on April 26, 1999. Survivors include; her son, John and wife Karalee of Perry and their children, Laurel (Terence), Christian (Cheryl), Lars (Christy), Addie (David) Allegra, Isaac, Peder (Holly) and Charis; her daughter Sandy and husband Jack Brown of Overland Park and their children, Craig (Lindsay) and Kelsey; her six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 20, 2012 at First Presbyterian Church in Holton. Mrs. Fisher will lie in state beginning Tuesday afternoon at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Holton Community Hospital or Jackson County Friends of Hospice and may be sent in care of Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 270, Holton 66436.
