Age 94, passed away on March 13, 1998. Mrs Mears was born on April 29, 1904 in Detroit to Clarence R. and Mamie (Denstaedt)Gilbert. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray J. Mears; daughter Arlene VanConnant; son, Fred Mears; grandchildren, Ray VanConant and Jimmy Mears.
Surviving are her daughter, Lois R. Deitz of Holt; sons, Gilbert R (Dororthy) Mears of Barryton, MI, Clarence L. (Lila) Mears of Ubly, MI, Bob (Bernettea) Mears of Williamston, MI, and Russell (Kay) Haar of Lansing; grandchildren, Diana Rochowiak, Susie Gordie, Nancy, Terry, Wayne, Wendy, Chuck, Dawn, Ray, Becky, Pam, Butch, Betsy, Ruth Ann, Dave, Randy, Pebbie and Clara; 43 great grandchildren; 9 great great grand children.
Religious services will be conducted by the Rev. Joseph D. Huston of Holt United Methodist Church at 2:30p.m. Tuesday, March 17, 1998 at the Estes-Leadly Holt/Delhi Chapel with interment in Maples Ridge Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home from 5-8p.m. Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Arthritis Foundation of Michigan in memory of Madaliene L. Mears.
