John T. Hammond, a well known farmer of Anne Arundel county, died Tuesday at his home, Snow Hill, near Brooklyn. He was 71 years old.
Mr. Hammond was a descendant of Major John Hammond, who was one of the commissioners appointed to plan the city of Annapolis in 1804. He was the son of the late Resin and Ann Catherine Hammond. He was a constant reader of The Sun for over 50 years.
Besides a widow, Mr. Hammond is survived by the following children, Mrs. John H. Gies, of 1228 West Lafayette avenue, Mrs. Herman H. Shriner, Mrs. Edgar Read, Mrs. John D. Stoll and Messrs. Albert S. J., P. Howard, William A. and John T. Hammond. He also leaves a brother, Mr. Resin W. Hammond, and three sisters, Mrs. Mary A. Benson, Mrs. Charles D. Merryman and Mrs. Rita Kelly.
