Edward Walker is the son of John Walker and Mary Holt Walker. He was hit with Infantile Paralyses as they called it at the time, otherwise known as Polio. He was able to walk with a built up shoe and two canes. It is said that his father liked to drink a little too much which led Edward to be a teetotaler and a "Staunch Wesleyan Methodist" as per his son.

Edward married Mary Jane Hale who was only 18 and he was 36. They had 5 children:
Herbert Hale Walker 1874-1958
Arnold Walker
Theodore Walker
Dora Ellen Walker Swain
Mrs. L. Polding (Millwood, MB)

Edward's wife died suddenly after nursing 2 children through Scarlet Fever and leaving him with 5 young children.

Edward raised the 5 children while running his photography business and in 1895 decided to emigrate to Canada with the 3 youngest children. Herbert was already in Canada and Arnold remained in England.

Edward settled in Millwood, MB where he continued his photography as well as becoming the Millwood post master and purchased the general store.

Edward died in Millwood in his residence. He is buried in Russell, MB.
