Born September 15, 1920, she was a lifelong resident of Greenville and a daughter of the late Alonzo Frank Day, Sr. and Minnie Smith Day.
She graduated from Greenville High in 1937. Mrs. Lowery retired from the Bowen Law Firm in 2001, where she had worked as the bookkeeper for 35 years. She taught piano in her home for 31 years and was the organist at the Temple of Israel for 32 years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church where she played the piano for two Sunday School Classes for many years.
She is predeceased by her husband, who died in 1969, two brothers and a sister. She is survived by her daughter, Day Lowery of Greenville and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at 11:00am in the Remembrance Chapel Mausoleum at Woodlawn Memorial Park with the Reverend Dr. John Brearley officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the chapel.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff of Laurel Baye Nursing Home for their loving care in her last months.
