He was born October 15, 1921 in Chambersburg, Pa to Adam and Nellie (Ausherman) Knepper.
He was married to Anna Ruth Mellinger on March 11, 1944 in Mount Joy, Pa. Abner was a member of the New Guilford Brethren in Christ Church and served in various capacities, including trustee, Sunday school teacher, church board member and usher. He was a dairy farmer in the Duffield area for 30 years. He also worked at Manor Care Nursing Home and Plasterer's Greenhouse and volunteered at Camp Joy-El, Menno Haven Village and Penn Hall. Abner served on the Board of Roxbury Camp for 22 years and was an active member of the Gideons.
Abner was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, Robert, Paul, Charles, John and Lewis, and one sister, Ruth Hess.
Interment will be held at the New Guilford Cemetery.
