Josephine (BURCHAM) OCKERMAN, after an illness of several months, quietly slept away into her last rest, at the age of sixty-nine years, six months and eight days. No pains were spared by her relatives and friends to make her comfortable in her last sickness, but only the hand of God is able to heal all.

She was a member of the Christian church and was earnest in her efforts to serve God. She was always kind and thoughtful of others, and was exceptionally fond of children. During her husband's long illness of fifteen years, she gave proof of her kindness and patience.

Mrs. OCKERMAN, the daughter of Solomon and Sarah BURCHAM, was a member of a family of thirteen children, nine of whom have preceded her in death. The surviving ones are Rolly, Morton and Emily Jane BURCHAM.

She was married to David OCKERMAN May 3, 1883. To this union two sons and two daughters were born, Kenneth, Rose, Mary and Novell. Rose died February 20, 1923. The other survive. She also leaves eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

"Son of God, the grave defying, raise us also into life; help us on thy power relying, sin to conquer in the strife; crucified with Christ may we rise to immortality."
