Lena Mae Lambert, age 84 of Monroe, passed away on Friday, February 28, 2014, at Skiff Medical center in Newton.
The daughter of Charles C. and Millie (Kingery) Bailey, Lena was born on July 17, 1929, in Marion County, Iowa. On January 28, 1950, she was united in marriage to Nelson O. Lambert in Knoxville. Lena enjoyed collecting beautiful porcelain dolls and teddy bears. She also enjoyed playing cards with her family, watching NASCAR, especially Jeff Gordon and fishing. Lena's greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Those left to honor her memory include her children, James (Zita) Lambert of Kellogg, Joseph (Joann) Lambert of Knoxville, Janice (Robert) Leinen of North English, Iowa and Linda (David) Donahue of Monroe; nine grandchildren, Stacie, Brandie, Jacob, Kelsie, David, Desiree', Kyle, Kayla and Chris and 11 great grandchildren. Also surviving are her siblings, Harold Baily of Knoxville, James (Jackie) Bailey of Knoxville, Marion (Arville) Bailey of Knoxville and Marvin (Lorraine) Bailey of Iowa City, a sister-in-law, Carrole Lambert of Washington and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, Nelson in 2010, and a son, Michael Lambert in 2013.
