Sarah's parents were Jesse HALLOCK (1715-1790) and Phoebe BURLING (1736-1772) as shown in the chart at the right.

Sarah was married to Amos DICKINSON (1760-1838) on 17 Oct 1800 in Oyster Bay, Nassau County, New York. His parents were Townsend DICKINSON (1732-1793) and Anne UNDERHILL (1745-1798) as shown in the chart at the right.

Amos was directly descended from four passengers who were aboard the Mayflower on her maiden voyage to America including John HOWLAND, Elizabeth TILLEY, and Elizabeth's parents.

Amos and Sarah had three known children who grew to adulthood. Their names and approximate birth years are shown below.

1802 James DICKINSON
1804 Samuel Burling DICKINSON
1810 Sarah Ann DICKINSON

Little is known, thus far, about James DICKINSON except he was named as executor of his father's will, executed 03 May 1838 and filed 21 Jun 1838. James was living in Aurelius (southeast of Syracuse, between Auburn and Seneca Falls), Cayuga County, New York at the time of his father' s death.

Samuel Burling DICKINSON was married to Caroline Elizabeth KINNISON in Mississippi. They had eleven children together, ten of whom grew to adulthood. They relocated to Texas in the early period of the Texas Republic, and all of their children were born in Texas but the first one (Preston Augustus) who was born at his maternal grandfather's plantation home in Jefferson County, Mississippi, near Fayette, just northeast of Natchez.

Sarah Ann DICKINSON was married to George FLAGLER (1806-1870). They had one child who grew to adulthood, Charles FLAGLER (1842-1912) who moved to Houston, Texas and died there. Charles apparently never married. In his will, he named his cousins, the children and some of the grandchildren descended from his mother's brother, Samuel Burling DICKINSON.
