BANGOR – Julian Linwood Jones, 92, died Feb. 26, 2014 at the Togus VA Hospice Center in Chelsea. He was born Dec. 10, 1921 in Bangor, son of Linwood M. and Queen O. (Jenkins) Jones.

Julian was a graduate of Bangor High School, class of 1939. He entered the Army Air Corps and served from 1942 to 1945 as a Radar Mechanic in the US and England during the European Air Campaign.

He married Beulah "Betty" Norris June 8, 1944 in Bangor. Julian was employed by the Bangor Merrifield Office Supply Company for 41 years, retiring as a buyer. He was a member of Rising Virtue Lodge #10, AF & AM of Bangor, Scottish Rite Bodies Valley of Bangor, Maine Consistory 32nd degree and Anah Shriners. Julian was coroneted a Sovereign Grand Inspector General 33rd Degree of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite of Free Masonry for the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction of the United States of America September 30, 1987 in Boston, MA.

Surviving are one daughter, Julie Storm Jones of Hallowell; two grandsons, Alexander Jones Gross of West Bath and Elijah Norris Gross of Hallowell; one cousin, Clayton Rogers of Brewer.

Julian was predeceased by his wife, Beulah "Betty" Jones in 2002 and an infant daughter.
