WHITEWATER/DODGEVILLE — Alice Marie Kalish, age 83, passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 1994, at the Countryside Home in Jefferson. She was born July 31, 1910, in Woodman, Wisconsin, the daughter of Albert and Anna (Imhoff) Swenson, and was raised and educated in the Boscobel area. On March 11, 1928 she married Clyde K. Kalish and they made their home in the Blue Mounds, Barneveld and Dodgeville area all of there married life. Clyde passed away in 1974. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and was a devoted wife and mother. Her family was her life. She is survived by a daughter, Lucy (Roger) Cummings of Whitewater; two sons, Vern (Jane) Kalish of Madison, and Glenn (Gladys) Kalish of Clinton, Wisconsin; a daughter-in-law, Char Kalish of Madison; 14 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and six sisters, Gladys Nelson of Boscobel, Hilda (Otey) Clark of Grand Rapids, Minnesota, Inez Johnston of Savana, Illinois, Lenice (Harold) Gullick of Reedsburg, Wisconsin, Geraldine (Bill) Wanek of Blue River, Wisconsin, and Vivian (Joe) Sopher of Boscobel. She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Merl [Merle]; a grandson, Randall Kalish; and two brothers, Clarence and Harvey Swenson. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 17, 1994, at 2:00 p.m., from the MCGINLEY FUNERAL HOME in Dodgeville. Her niece, Reverend Jean Bartlett of the United Methodist Church in Salem, Wisconsin will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, June 17, 1994, from noon until the time of service. Burial will be at Eastside Cemetery in Dodgeville.
