Mr. James E. Ashby died at his residence near Fayetteville of paralysis on Sunday, December 14, 1902, aged 75 years. When he died one of the best citizens in Lincoln County quitted the walks of men; the very sould of honor, every transaction of his would bear the light of the noonday sun. He has left in his upright life an example of probity and integrity that will stand as a monument to his memory. After funeral service by Elder Archie Brown, the remains were buried at Rose Hill.
