Ellen S. Ellis, 86, passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 in Jackson, MS. Visitation for Mrs. Ellis will be on Friday, February 28, 2014 at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Ridgeland from 11:00am to 1:00pm with service following at 1:00pm. Burial will be at Parkway memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Ellis was born on June 24, 1927 in Brandywine, MS to William Smith and Mittie Lou Smith. She attended High school in Port Gibson, MS and later Millsap's College. In 1947 she married Charles W. Ellis and they began their life together. She was a long time member of Colonial Heights Baptist Church and Sunday school teacher. She loved gardening, all types of flowers and spending weekends at the family lodge in Thomastown, MS.
Mrs. Ellis was preceded in death by her parents; William and Mittie Smith.
She is survived by her husband; Charles W. Ellis, son; Bill Ellis, grandchildren; Will (Kendall) Ellis, Todd (Shelly) Ellis and Molly Ellis and Fiancé Misha, great grandchild; Hayes Ellis, Sister; Helen Duckworth and nephew; Lynn Burchfield.
