Billy V. Lunsford, 85, of Navasota, passed away on Tuesday, Feb 25, 2014, at his residence.

A celebration of his life will take place Thursday, Feb 27th at 2:00 p.m. at Nobles Funeral Chapel with interment to follow in Oakland Cemetery.

Billy was born in Garrison, TX on Sep 12, 1928, to Jessie Watson Lunsford and Ada Dee (Scarbough) Lunsford.

He served in the U.S. Army and married Leona (Wellmann) Lunsford. Together, they raised two daughters and a son. Mr. Lunsford served as a municipal judge for several years, and was a well-respected, well-loved member of the community who will be missed by many.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Langston Lunsford and Wendell Lunsford; sisters, Elvida Kelly, LaFaye Hartt and Opel Kelly and Grandson Cory Vanoy Lunsford.

Mr. Lunsford is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Leona; his daughters, Sandra and Robert Taylor
and Carol and Michael Serres, Sr., a son, Terry and Jackie Lunsford, a sister, Delores Stem, grandchildren, Mandy Carpenter, Kimber Nichols, Ryan Serres, Michael Serres, Jr., and Crystal Serres; and great-grandchildren, Rayleigh Grace Serres and Case Michael Serres.

Pallbearers will be Michael Serres, Jr. of Richards, Ryan Serres of White Hall, Christopher Maduzia of Tomball, Ricky Schroeder of Anderson, Mark Diorio of Navasota and Don Wellmann of Old Washington.
