Dorothy "Dottie" Meyer passed away Feb. 22, 2014, after a long period of declining health, with her loving family at her side.

She was born in Bangor, Maine, on Aug. 23, 1934, to Orrin and Elizabeth (Fellows) Berry, and graduated from Bangor High School, Class of 53.

She worked for New England Tele & Tele as a telephone operator. In January 1956 she met the love of her life, Joe Meyer an Air Force sergeant from the local Air Force Base. They were married Sept. 8, 1956, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bangor, Maine.

Surviving are family members, her loving husband, Joe, a daughter, Julie (Tom) McCrobie, a son, John, a granddaughter, Samantha (Ryan) Boak, and a grandson, Tad McCrobie, and great-granddaughters, Camryn and Rowynn Boak, all of Wooster; a sister, Sandra (Robert) McKay of Florida and Maine; numerous nieces and nephews.

Dottie was an Air Force Mom, a loving wife and friend. While living in Alaska she enjoyed snowmobiling and camping and was very active in the Susitna Girl Scouts of Anchorage.

She was preceded in death by an infant sister, Marion Eugenia; and her parents.

She always had a sweet smile and will sadly be missed by all.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday at St. Mary Catholic Church, 527 Beall Ave., Wooster. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery.

Friends may call Friday from 5-8 p.m. where the rosary will be recited at 4:30 p.m. at McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill Street, Wooster. Online expressions and guest book registry are available at www.mcintirebradhamsleek.com.

The family suggests in lieu of flowers, friends and family may make a donation to LifeCare Hospice of Wayne & Holmes Counties, 2525 Back Orrville Road, Wooster 44691; or St. Mary School, P.O. Box 109, Wooster 44691, in her memory.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Larry Stallings and his staff and LifeCare Hospice care givers for their outstanding care. Special thanks to those aids that went out of their way to make Dottie comfortable.
