Warrant Officer 1 Adam Wilson was a 21 year old U.S. Army Soldier who died during the Vietnam War. WO1 Wilson was piloting a UH-1 Huey helicopter (Tail Number 68-15661, Call Sign Dolphin 661) on a resupply mission when high winds restricted the approach to the airfield. On the fifth approach attempt the helicopter was shot down, it crashed into the ground and then burned.
Also killed in the crash were the rest of the Huey crew: WO1 Ricardo W. Regalado, SP4 Ronald L. Ducommun, SP4 Forest C. Hodgkin, and passenger SP4 James J. Gunderson.
WO1 Wilson served with the 174th Assault Helicopter Company, 14th Aviation Battalion, 16th Aviation Group, 23rd Infantry Division (Americal Division).
