Mr. Kelley died Monday, Nov. 28, 2005, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born Sept. 17, 1924, in Limestone County. He was a member of New Oakland Baptist Church. He was also an umpire for Dixie Youth League baseball and softball. Mr. Kelley was an avid hunter and gardener. He worked in the poultry industry.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Kelley and Amy Tucker; one brother, Ralph Kelley, and one daughter, Sandra Ann Kelley.
He is survived by his wife, Evie B. Kelley of Athens; two sons, Fred Kelley Jr. and wife Carolyn, and Wayne Kelley and wife Betty, all of Athens; five brothers, Billy Kelley, Doyle Kelley, Wayne Kelly and Donald Kelley, all of Athens, and Ronald Kelley of Gurley; a half-brother, Jerry Kelley of Decatur; a half sister, Freda Beckham of Decatur; five grandchildren, Phil Kelley of Moulton, Sandy Adams of Temple, Ga., Teresa Ennis of Athens, Alan Smith of Nashville, and Chris Smith of Athens; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Barry Kelley, Tommy King, Randy Kelley, David Kelley, Chris Smith and Kenny Campbell.
