Hannah was the daughter of Stinus and Elizabeth Liabo Dragseth. She attended Custer County High School in Miles City, and obtained her teaching certificate from Montana Normal College in Dillon. She moved to Circle, Montana, in 1929, and met her future husband George L. Mahlstedt there. Hannah and George married on June 30, 1930, in Glendive, Montana, and the couple made their home on the Mahlstedt family ranch in McCone County. She was a longtime member of the First Lutheran Church in Circle. Services 2 PM Saturday, December 18, 1999, at First Lutheran Church in Circle. She had sons John and George, and daughter Patricia.
