William Clyde Adams, 73, of Pleasant Gap, died at Centre Community Hospital on Monday May 20, 1985.
Born in Prospect, Fayette County, on Oct. 4, 1911, a son of Samuel D and Eva H Bryson Adams. On March 24, 1934, he married Edith Hile, who survives.
He served as a major with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers during World War II. He earned a mechanical engineering degree from Penn State. He worked for Cerro Metal Products of Bellefonte for 33 years, retiring in 1972 as technical superintendent. He was a member and trustee of the Pleasant Gap United Methodist Church. He was a board member for the American Red Cross, trustee for Centre Community Hospital, and member of the Spring Township Sewer and Water Authority, and Centre County Engineers.
Also surviving are two daughters: Carolyn B Myers and Honey Lee Adams; three grandchildren; a sister: Elizabeth Hood and a brother: Dale Adams.
