W. B. Millard, father of W. B. Millard, jr., vice-president of the Omaha National bank, a brother of Miss Jessie Millard of Omaha, and son of the late Senator J. H. Millard died Wednesday night at his home in Berkeley, Cal.
Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Millard, jr., left Wednesday for Berkeley.
Mr. Millard's first wife, Mrs. Frankie Barton Millard, died many years ago. His second wife, the former Miss Louise Bennett of Chicago, survives him. Fours sons by his first wife also survive Mr. Millard. They are: Barton Millard of Rancho Santa Fe, Cal.; Willard, jr., of Omaha; Joseph Millard of Rock Springs, Wyo., and Ray Millard of Chicago.
Mr. Millard was 69 years old. He was born in Davenport, Ia., and in his youth came with his parents to Omaha. He was educated in the Omaha schools, and after graduating from college was prominent for many years in local banking circles. He was secretary-treasurer of the Omaha Loan and Trust company, and later vice-president of the Omaha National bank.
Mr. Millard left Omaha more than 20 years ago, to go to Chicago. Later he lived for a time in Montana, where he had extensive mining interests, and in recent years spent much of his time in Berkeley. He traveled widely and at one time, after leaving Omaha, spent nearly four years in a trip around the world.
