Frank Barber was a long-time insurance and real estate dealer in Hereford; he worked in the local postoffice for a number of years and did some farming.

Barber was a son of Mr. and Mrs. M. F. Barber who lived in Dimmitt several years then lived on a farm south of Hereford for a time before moving to Lockney. M. F. Barber was county judge in Castro County at one time. Their children included, in addition to Frank, two others sons, Bud and Roy, both deceased; Mrs. Ollie Lamkin, Mrs. Theo Griffith, both deceased; and Mrs. Walter Cope, Floydada, and Mrs. W. R. Jackson, McAllen.

Frank Barber was married to Miss Margaret Etta Dixon at Dimmitt in 1906. He died here in 1957, and Mrs. Barber is living in Friona; Their children are: Flake Barber (Sarah Gentry), Friona; Frank Barber, Jr. (Iva Dell Dougherty), Corpus Christi; Helen Ruth (Mrs. Andrew Pat) Jones, Corpus Christi; Billie Louise (Mrs. John) Guinn, Cheyenne, Wyo.; Merle (Mrs. Orland) Newell, Hereford; and George Alva (Drucilla Smith), deceased.
