Milton J. Arie, born c. June 24, 1853/54/56 in or near Knoxville, Knox County, Illinois, the son of Joseph Arie and Nancy (Humphrey/Humphreys) Arie. Milton was married to Deniza (or Deriaza) E. Fulton on August 19, 1878 in Knox County, Illinois. Deniza was 20 years old at the time of the marriage, being born c. 1857/58 in Washington County (according to the 1885 census), Iowa, the daughter of Hugh Fulton and Mary A. (Beck) Fulton.
According to the 1900 census, Milton and Deniza were the parents of 7 children, all of whom were living in 1900. They include;
1. Milton C. Arie, born January 21, 1880 in Illinois, in or near Galesburg. Milton was married to Alice Marie Hiatt on December 24, 1901. The children born to Milton and Alice include;

2. Clyde E. Arie, born September 28, 1881 in Illinois. Clyde enlisted in the service of the United States Army in the 1890's and was sent to the Philippines during the Philippine Insurection. At the time of the 1900 census, Clyde was a Private in Co. D of the 35th Infantry Regiment and was stationed in Baliuag, in the Province of Bulacan in the Philippines. His residence is listed as Abingdon, Knox County, Illinois. He is 19 and single.

Clyde was married to Catherine May Rippe in the early 1900's. Catherine was born c. 28 September 1888 in Hammond, Indiana, the daughter of Henry Rippe and __________ (__________) Rippe, both of whom were born in Germany.
Clyde and May are known to have had at least one son;
A. Frank Arie, born c. 1912/13 in Illinois. A Frank B. Arie, who was a Private in the U. S. Army during WWII and who was born on 2 Aug 1912 and who died on 15 Aug 1987 is buried in the Fort Gibson National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, Muskogee County, Oklahoma. She was almost certainly married by 1900 as she is not listed with the family in the 1900 census.
