Mrs. Kata Jones, 84 years old, a Native of Bollinger County, died Friday at Charlevoix Nursing Home in St. Charles. Mrs. Jones, the former Kata Abernathy, was born October 12, 1889 at Hahn. Her parents were the late Jacob and Ruby Eaker Abernathy.
In 1906 she married Homer Jones, who preceded her in death in 1957.
Survivors are one son, Elwood Jones of Black Jack; one sister, Mrs. Dessie Gaither of Sacramento, CA; and two grandchildren.
Services were Monday at Baker Funeral Home in Lutesville. Burial was in Dry Creek Cemetery near Lutesville.
