Katherine Wearden, born November 1, 1919 entered rest March 12, 2002. Survived by one daughter, Alice Ann Wearden; one grandson, Richard Myers; two granddaughters, Kathryn Salerno and Tracy Myers, five great-grandsons, Chris, Jacob, Nick and Nolan Myers, Paul Zain; two great-granddaughters, Hannah and Makenzie; one great-great-grandson, Noah Myers. She was a good friend, mother and grandmother. Katherine was in Federal Service for 35 years at Kelly AFB in the USAF Security Service Cryptologic Depot and Support Center and Electronic Security Command where she received many outstanding awards and recognition for outstanding suggestions, achievement and accomplishment. She was commended for her conscientious and aggressive efforts to upgrade the standards of the document control section. For two years after retirement from Kelly she served as a Bexar County election judge. She was so highly regarded by her co-workers at Kelly that she received upon retirement a painting of Mt. Rushmore with her likeness carved into the mountain along with the Presidents Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln, and Roosevelt. She is loved very much and will be missed by her family, neighbors, co-workers and all who knew her and were touched by her love, life, example, and dedication. Her memory lives on in the hearts of all who loved her. Visitation will be held Friday from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, March 16, 2002 at 1:00 P.M. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North with Rev. Sally Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in Mission Burial Park North. Mission Park Funeral Chapels North.
