ALBERT ANDEREGG WELL KNOWN FARMER PASSES AWAY
Albert Anderegg Sr., 89, of 4853 Spring St., Verona, passed away Wednesday afternoon at 5:30 at his home. He had been ailing the past year and seriously ill the past month.
Mr. Anderegg was born in Oberwill , Canton, Bern, Switzerland on Sept 10, 1878, son of Melchoir and Katherine Abbuhl Anderegg. At the age of 10 he came to the U. S. with his parents and they located near Westernville in the Town of Western.
His lifetime was devoted to farming and he operated farms in the Town of Western and Verona, He retired from farming in 1954 and until last year worked at his hobby farming, on a small scale at his home in Verona.
Was Life Member
Mr. Anderegg was a life member of the Holstein-Fresian Assn. Of America.
He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Church of Rome which is now the Trinity United Church of Christ.
For 15 years following his marriage on Feb. 26, 1907 to Elizabeth Teuscher, he operated a farm in Western. For the past 45 years, he had operated the farm in Verona. The ceremony of his marriage was performed at the home of the bride's parents in Verona by the Rev. Conrad Wilker, then pastor of St. Peter's Lutheran Church.
Survivors Listed
His wife passed away April 28, 1959. He is survived by a daughter, Miss Katheine E. Anderegg, who lives at home and who had taken care of her parents; a son, Albert Anderegg Jr., Rock Road, Verona and a brother, Adolph Anderegg of Stokes.
Funeral services will be held at the Price & Boyd Home for Funerals, in Rome on Saturday morning at 11 o'clock with the Rev. Clifford Weber, pastor of the Verona Presbyterian Chuch, officiating and the interment will be made in the spring in the Verona Cemetery.
