Eleanor Maynard Cleveland, age 87, of Locust Grove, Georgia passed away February 18, 2014. Eleanor was born in Coweta County the daughter of the late Walter Edgar Maynard and Laura Estelle Biles Maynard. She was also preceded in death by her husband Thomas Walter Cleveland and several siblings. Eleanor was a member of Philippi Baptist Church in Locust Grove , she was a school bus driver with the Henry County School System for 27 years and was the first woman bus driver. Eleanor played semi-pro softball and basketball for the Tomboys. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and music. Survivors are her children, Janice Cleveland Boyce of Locust Grove, Carol Anne Brookins (Jim) of North Carolina and Bobby Cleveland of Locust Grove; she had 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; sister, Annestel Ransom of Macon; several nieces and nephews and cousins. Funeral service for Eleanor will be Friday, February 21, 2014 – 2:00 PM at Philippi Baptist Church with Rev. Joey Seabolt and Rev. Joshua McClendon with interment to follow at County Line Baptist Church Cemetery.
