Spearville,KS--- Emma E. Burke,84, died Tues.Jan.23,2001 at Via Christi St. Francis Campus, Wichita,KS. She was born on July 24,1916 in Wright,Ks. to John Lutz and Mary Anna (Hartman) Lutz. She married James R. Burke on Feb. 16,1938 at Wright,KS. He survives.

She attended St. Andrew's Catholic School in Wright,KS. She was very active in the St.Mary's Parish. She lived in the same area all of her married life before moving to Spearville,KS in 1998. She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Daughters of Isabella, Kinsley,KS, St.John the Baptist Church,Spearville,KS and St. Mary's Altar society.

Other survivors are four sons: Jim(Linda)Burke of Dodge City,KS, Dennis Burke of Harrisburg,Pa, Tom(Lori)Burke of Spearville,KS and Jack(Brenda)Burke of Spearville,KS.; one daughter, Diane(Rob)Jacobs of Kinsley,KS.; one sister, Lucile Kitten of Dodge City,KS, two brohters, Bill Lutz of Bristol,Colo and Philip Lutz of Wright,KS.; 13 grandchildren and five step-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by parents, five sisters, one brother, and one granddaughter, Ashley Burke.

Vigil service was held at St.John the Baptist Church and funeral mass was held at St Mary's Catholic Church with Rev. Robert Schremmer presiding.
